the hospital

The mare wandered slowly through the Swamp, seeming in no particular rush. Her trail often turned this way and that, double back on itself and taking wide detours before always returning its aim east. A shawl covered her body, but the color blazing upon her skin was undeniable, unmistakable.

To any who might be watching, she always appeared just out of sight, as if a mirage. She disappeared in the foliage and reappeared and random, time and distance bending beneath her very will. But wherever she was seen, Vespera was sure it was no mistake. She knew who would see her, and she knew why it was they and not another.

She knew what they were looking for.

She appeared to the sick and the wounded, making no discrimination between equine and animal. From innocents crapes to life threatening wounds, from mild dehydration to sever convulsions, she appeared. Those who could walk, she led; those who could not, she lended them her strength to follow.

She brought them to the Hospital, to the healers who could help them. And all along the way, she planted bushes of white lillies, so that when she was gone… others might see them and find their way alone.

The Hospital is officially open!

You are welcome to create threads either following the lillies or following Vespera to the hospital, or to find one of the creatures she’s created to lead you there! But please no direct contact with Vespera… for now c;

You can reply to this thread anytime before July 31st to claim partial participation in a SWP, but one post max per character if you choose!

I've gone a million miles
With the same crooked smile

Images of her flash in and out of his peripherals, taunting him, beckoning him.

Atreus has never been a follower of any God – he believes in them, knows they exist in every realm and has even encountered them, but he owes them nothing.

He is patient as he follows, trekking silently through the foliage and waiting to capture another glimpse of her. In one moment Vespera is there, but place any amount of focus on her and she was gone. The potion master followed her lead, curiosity at the forefront of his mind for this was no random sighting of Terrastella’s tutelary deity. She seemed to be calling forth her people, tempting them further and further into the thickening foliage like a siren at sea.

Eventually the thick of the swamp trees and brush gave way to an opening, a path lined in white lilies. There is a tickle of excitement deep within his breath as he steps onto the old, worn path that he had once been so familiar with. For several long moments the carmine man stands there, reveling in the sight of the hospital; his home, just as grand as he remembered it.

Slowly, the corners of his lips curl upwards in a devious grin and he steps forward to begin up the path laid out before him.

He has work to do.

And I always give you all you need
But I can see that you're dancing with the devil

She was gathering late blooms when she found the white lilies, beautiful and blooming despite the fact that they did not grow in autumn. When Fiona lifted her head, she saw the way they were planted seemed to be drawing a path through Tinea. Unable to squander her curiosity, the lavender girl followed them, winding through the swamp as they did, until suddenly they stopped.

It took her a moment to see it all, tucked away in the treetops and hidden among the thick underbrush, but once Fiona’s eyes adjusted it was as if it came alive. It was more breathtaking than she could have ever expected, and nothing Florentine could have ever hinted at could have prepared her for experiencing the real thing.

It was like a myth, like fiction, and yet as she walked closer she knew there was no way she was dreaming. It was actually here, had evidently been here all along, hidden away.

Fiona felt like a child on a birthday, opening finding out they had gotten the gift they wanted most. She had to try very hard to compose herself, attempt to control the urge to rush up and explore every inch, every doorway, bridge and path. She had questions, so many questions and thoughts that she didn’t even know where to begin. Eventually, Fiona took the first step toward learning, discovering, and she knew she could spend endless days beneath this special canopy.

"Writing."

Annabeth

Like most things, it started slowly. A trickle of something cool and soothing gently prodded Annabeth's consciousness. The mare was poised to step through those pearly gates when the touch of divinity caused her to pause. In bits and pieces she started to remember. She had been shipwrecked and cast into the tempestuous mercy of the ocean. Weeks (?) had passed before she washed up on some shoreline thoroughly dehydrated and emaciated.

After that, she's not entirely sure how she got here... Here being pressed into the muddy ground of a large swamp about to die, but somehow responding to the call of something greater. Borrowed strength traced across her bones and exhaled thick mud from her nares. Leaden limbs kicked and all of a sudden she was standing. Black stars burst and scattered in pulses across her vision as she began to follow the lilies. It seemed to be the thing to do.

The effort should have killed Annabeth more quickly than had she waited for death to come for her in the mud. Though whenever she faltered, it seemed like there was someone else there propping her up. Delirium and spotty vision did not aid Anna in catching a glimpse of equine responsible. Once she swore she glimpsed a shawl of some sort draped across a feminine frame. When she did a double take, the mare instead found herself suddenly in a hospital. Relief shuddered through her and had she any moisture left in her body she would have cried. Instead she sank to the floor among the other ailing creatures and breathed a prayer of gratitude.

ooc: First post in a really long time definitely need to get back in the swing of things ^^'! Any healers/helpers are welcome to tend to Anna!
