◇ Driven / Perfectionist / Uncertain ◇
Amalthea is a determined mare with a tendency to throw herself into things, be they business or pleasure. She finds it difficult to leave something half done, and as a result can feel anxious leaving loose ends to things.
◇ Imaginative / Amiable ◇
Creativity is a must when one's life work is based upon creation, in her own opinion. Amalthea takes great pains to give a spark to everything she does, be that the polishing of a piece of burl wood for a pendant or greeting others.
◇ Mischievous / Melodic ◇
Playful and perhaps a bit teasing at times, Amalthea enjoys a good prank or joke, usually doing her best to keep it in good taste. In another life she might have followed the path of a bard, for she can also sometimes be heard singing quietly to herself as she works.
◇ Crybaby / Heartfelt ◇
Sad? Find a quiet place to weep. Happy? She can't stop the tears from leaking. Angry? How can you argue and not cry!? Amalthea has a tendency to be a little weepy when emotions are high, she found the tears to be embarrassing when she was younger and still can find it awkward but has more or less come to terms with her more watery nature.
Born to a previously close knit family of artisans, Amalthea was raised by her grandfather from a young age after her mother and father left the Night Court due to a disagreement within the family. She was left behind with her grandfather by her own choice and his suggestion.
She learned to make jewelry from her grandfather, Ferruccio (NPC). And took an distinct interest in the use of gemstones and shining things. Her grandfather supported her and helped her create her very first simple necklace, the centerpiece being a wooden pendant stained blue and sealed with layers of buffed down waxes and oils until it shone. Ferruccio still wears the pendant that she gifted him to this day.
Now that she's older, she has taken on a more active role in helping Ferruccio create his wares. Often going on errands for him to fetch materials and meet with clients seeking commissioned pieces when he cannot travel.
She knows that when he is gone that she will take over his work, but feels uncertain about a future where he won't be there to guide her.
Currently she is keeping her nose to the grindstone, working hard to create beautiful works of wearable art. This however does come at the expense of a more social life beyond her craft, and has left her somewhat isolated from others on a more personal level.
One of the longest times she has spent away from home was a time where she traveled to the Dusk Court to meet with a client interested in commissioning a piece of jewelry for his sweetheart.
She ended up staying for several days to work out the details and tentatively exploring local shops and sights in her spare time. When it was time for her to leave, she couldn't help but feel a slight mourning at the loss of complete autonomy. This quixkly faded however, as she finally reached her familiar home.
Somewhere in her though, she does still crave more adventure.
