Luthais' body type is a careful blend of both his parents. He retains some of his Percheron fathers height but is slimmed down thanks to his mother's blood. When it comes to his colouring, however, he very distinctly takes after his dappled mother. Where she was heavily dappled he keeps much of his solid base. A deep black-grey he is marked with darker flecks across his face, and shoulders. His face is also marked with similar specks but these are an off-white. He has some dapples but they are few, mostly noticeable upon his shoulders, withers, hip, rump, and lightly across his eyes.

All of his hair is black with his mane being rather excessive in length, and his tail being far shorter – barely reaching past his thighs. His eyes are also something of an oddity. They're a dark, almost black colour that reflects a deep navy or - on some occasions - an off red.

Where he was once born with bone-growths similar to his father's, there is now nothing but faint scarring. They were originally a dark obsidian in color with a slight translucency in the thinner areas. They have all since been removed and have not grown back. The only one of these such growths that he has kept is the one atop his head. A thick horn of sorts, it's also the rich obsidian color but all throughout it are cracks that reveal a deep red with an almost gem-like quality. There are two naturally occurring holes within the structure and Luthais has taken to looping metal piercings through these.

Even as a child Luthais has worn a thick, black infinity scarf he picked up as the dusty old remains of a cloak. He cherishes it and it’s extremely uncommon to see him without it. He has also taken to tucking roses with the dark folds, though he has never been able to explain why.

A new addition to his attire is a delicate, beautiful pearl necklace. This is kept around his neck at all times as well and can often be seen poking out from under the dark fabric of his scarf. He keeps this tucked away and only a rare few are ever given glimpses of his small treasure. He holds this necklace - and feather - close to his heart as a memory and reminder of his believed-to-be late adoptive mother.

Much has changed in the years since Luthais’ birth. Gone is the shaky, uncertain child with a conflicted heart. In his place stands a far more confident yet serious adult. Alienated from his blood relatives at a young age, Luthais was required to grow up quickly. He has always been fairly independent and able to look after himself without relying on others. This had made for a lonely life, but one in which he’s had a solid footing.

He doesn’t trust easily — nor very quickly — but he is a loyal friend to those select few. There is very little that he wouldn’t do for his chosen family, and he holds a deep suspicion of anyone who tries to get too close. This means he can come across as prickly, and his words can be sharp at times. He doesn’t take well to authority either, and has a natural tendency to scorn anyone who might try to demand otherwise. He has learned not to follow blindly, and thinking for himself has kept him afloat during the turmoil of his life.

Because of this he is often seen to have gray morals — he won’t do what’s right for the betterment of people as a whole, but rather what he deems good for himself and his family. Luthais does find it easier to identify with ill-placed intentions, something that leaves him as a wildcard to what is right and wrong in his mind.

He has a dry sense of humour, and a bit of a sarcastic tone, but there is often a fondness underneath. He loses his serious nature when he’s with those he cares for. However he has a difficult time confessing or even admitting to his own inner emotions. Luthais feels deeply and with his whole self, and this is something that often leaves him afraid. Admittedly this is a fault he loathes as there have been times in his life when he regrets not having confessed what he feels. It still remains difficult for him, but as of late he has been trying to remedy this.

ELYSIUM. The beginning. His life had an unfortunate start — a child wanted, yet not. His father was a cruel tyrant, and so Luthais was a black stain upon his family from the moment he drew his first breath. His mother whispered his name - a quiet prayer that perhaps he would turn out different than the monsters around him. He bonded with her in those few delicate moments before his father arrived in a flurry of arrogance and pride. Another son, another child to carry on the cruel family blood. Even as a babe he felt an aversion to this beast claiming to have sired him.

In time he found himself growing aquantined with his homelands. As the weeks went by Luthais would wander through the vast valley they called home. His attention was captivated by the great iron deposits, and the plethora of roses that grew in between. Despite his wonder, however, he was miserable. There was little in this life that presented him with opportunities to express the emotions a child should feel. All too often he would face the scowling expressions of his relatives, and be forced to understand the burden of his familial dynasty. One day he would make his mark, one day, one day, one day And he loathed it. His young heart ached, and hated.

Throughout all of his inner turmoil, and the weight he bore in those early days there was still a single, defining moment that he held onto.

The snow was fresh, and the air was cold when he stumbled across another foal his age. A strange looking boy with wings, whom offered Luthais something he would cherish for years to come - friendship.

While this meeting only lasted a moment, he took with him a feeling, and memories he would not soon forget. It would be some time before he’d meet Mir again, but he would look back fondly. Once more Luthais found himself faced with the cold reality of his homelands, and all they represented.

He continued to grow. Under the shadow of older siblings he was placed as a quick disappointment. He didn’t have the natural bulk, or the vicious drive his brothers had. He hated the cruelty his father craved. Luthais would fall short of every expectation placed before him, unable to measure up to the success of his older siblings. That is, until the burning. The Queen - the reigning Witch governing his homelands - had beckoned all those able to her side. He was old enough to follow, and eager to prove his worth to her.

She had set forth to set a neighboring woodland - and Kingdom - ablaze. Her dragon would open it’s maw and set the mighty forest aflame. Where Luthais once thought himself willing to burn others, and to destroy, he found himself hesitating. His heart clenched in his chest as he watched. In the end he couldn’t follow through with his Queen’s wishes and betrayed all he knew.

Barely into his second year and he was cast adrift. It was by some cruel twist of fate that he found himself within the very Woodlands he would have burned. Their home was in shambles, and the citizens within were licking their wounds in a desperate attempt to recover. Perhaps he sought some punishment for what his homelands had done, but he submitted himself to them. Luthais was interrogated, and reduced to a prisoner for a time. In the weeks that followed he was often left alone, only spoken to when asked about his origins.

Io Kairavi was an unexpected addition to his life. She approached him, embraced him, and brought him into the folds of her young family despite his initial protests. At the time he wasn’t sure what she saw in him to so openly accept him as she did. For his time within the Woods she became a gentle guiding hand, a parental figure he had otherwise been denied. Where he only saw failure within himself, she saw potential.

The festering self-hate was slow to dissipate, but Luthais found himself healing in time. Though he still hated the blood in his veins, he aimed instead to try and better some aspects of himself. With the help of his adoptive mother he was able to gain regular citizenship within the grand forest. It was here that he watched her children grow, and it was here that he spent countless days among the towering trees. He was even able to gain himself another friend in the form of a small three-headed pup.

He was almost deceived into happiness.

Tragedy was a vicious blow. Io Kairavi’s death left him broken.

The Woods and Elysium as a whole started to become a place of heartbreak. He attempted to remain, to pick up the shattered bits that had been left behind. It proved far too difficult for him. In the end he made the difficult decision to leave the only lands he had ever known and face the vast world beyond. He sought out Mir in an attempt to persuade his friend to leave with him.

THE JOURNEY. The World beyond presented him with numerous realms and opportunities. At times Luthais believed himself in over his head as he ventured from city to city. There were lands with languages he couldn’t understand, creatures that he couldn’t fathom existed before those very moments, and rich cultures he wished to explore.

Through his travels he would find the occasional face he recognized. Friends he longed to be reunited with, and family he thought he had lost.

During a brief confrontation he found himself separated from both Mir, and Fenrir - his companion. Luthais spent weeks searching for them only for his efforts to bear no fruit. He was entirely alone and left to wander from town to town once more. What joy he might have achieved through his travels previously dimmed greatly in the face of his solitude. In an attempt to earn currency, and make something of a living, he turned to magic.

His abilities - present since birth, but self-suppressed because of his father's disapproval - granted him some talents as a travelling healer. It was a mediocre way of living, but he kept him warm and gave him a place to sleep.

A HOME. For a time Luthais found a place to settle, a place he might perhaps belong. It was here that he encountered old friends, long thought lost. Rowan was a welcome and familiar face, something that he missed in all his years travelling. He remained with her for a time. Not long after he was reunited with Mir once more, a joyous occasion.

However this reunion had the stirrings of something Luthais believed forgotten to him. Emotions he hadn’t dared to touch before for fear of ridicule and rejection. Luthais had missed his childhood friend, and there was an ache in his heart.

Unfortunately this home would not be his for long. Once again he was forced to return to his travels.
