Burn baby burn - Astarot - 11-14-2017 Astarot
He couldn't believe everything he had held dear had seemingly vanished over night. He had been on the move ever since silently searching for the family he missed so much. His heart was broken, a fragment missing since Zafir had vanished. Images of her icy blue scales and scarlet eyes flashed through his mind. Shuddering he shoved the thoughts away trying to focus on the sloping ground below his hooves. His long locks had become a wild without Zafir's deft claws consistently smoothing the mess. The dual colored eyes that gazed down at the uneven mountain side were listless. he couldn't count the days he had been alone searching for some sign of the ones he had lost. A buffeting gale whipped at his powerful body causing him to slip. With a startled squeak the stallion found himself tumbling down the mountain. His eyes shut tight and he tried his best to pull his legs in close to keep them safe. He knew pain was coming, was sure his skin would be ragged and ripped by the time he stopped. Bewildered he merely slammed into achingly familiar sand. His eyes flew open hope sparkling deep within his mangled heart. 'Please...' As he lifted his large skull marked head he knew he wasn't back home. "I'll never see the Dragon's Throat again." A tear scorched it's way down his white and cream cheek as he pulled himself to his feathered hooves. He was no stranger to deserts and there was no fear in his eyes as he looked around. "How did I end up here?" Brow furrowed he sniffed the breeze. The sun was just turning the sky to a rosy pink and he watched it slowly rising above him. Maybe someone had found this place as well. It was no Throat, but it might due,if he could find some food and water. Thoughts of the oasis flashed through his mind and he assumed there might be another around here somewhere. First he needed to get his bearings. he looked back towards the rising sun and closed his eyes focusing on his instincts. Satisfied he turned and plowed through the sand eyes set on a large dune. He struggled for a few minutes before he remembered his younger life and they way he had moved through the sands of his foal-hood home. It became easier as he pulled his bone marked bulk above the rise. He tilted his head as he turned in a circle surveying the endless sea of sand around him. Still he was not worried, what good would that do him? Sighing he closed his eyes and lowered his head thinking out a plan; assuming he was on his own. --------------------------- Talk Words :: 452 @Ranjiri Everyone is welcome! <3 He fell in from a portal xD - table by Niki - RE: Burn baby burn - Seraphina - 11-17-2017 BETWEEN MY HANDS REST FIFTY-TWO PLAIN OLD PLAYING CARDS and I trapped god somewhere between the trump and the king of hearts-- Seraphina cascaded across the rolling dunes, silver coated stained with glittering gold wherever it clung to her sweat-stained limbs; she spent less time in the Mors, now that she was no longer a warrior, but the sensation of sand crumbling and skidding beneath her hooves remained familiar, even soothing. With her head still spinning from the past weeks’ events, she needed all the familiarity that she could manage. While engulfed in such a physical sensation, the heat of the sun on her spine and the twitch of her muscles beneath her, she could almost forget the dull panic that had remained a constant throbbing in the back of her head ever since she had found herself (or, more accurately, willed herself to be) named sovereign. She had flipped her own world on its head, and she still wasn’t sure how it felt – nevertheless, determination and persistence had always been her strongest suits, so she tried to assure herself that she would piece it together eventually. For now, she had more constructive matters to focus on than her own uncertainty. A beast was on the loose in Solterra, the garden that they had struggled to create was in shambles, and her people’s place in Novus remained uncertain. There was work to be done – all in due time. As she crested a great dune, she spotted an aberration to the seemingly-endless sea of sand. A dunskin stallion – large, though not especially massive, by comparison to some of the others in Solterra – wandering the Mors, entirely unfamiliar to her. She eyed him for a moment, before, with a sudden surge of motion, she made her way to his side. “Hello, stranger,” Came her quiet, cool voice, richly accented, once she judged herself to be within earshot. “You seem to be lost.” Now that she stood closer to him, she could make out his form more easily – skeletal markings and birdcatcher spots interrupted the dun of his coat, and his eyes were odd, one the pale blue of ice and the other a violent red. Despite his intimidating stature, he seemed more tragic than anything; his movements seemed to her burdened by a sadness that she couldn’t quite place. Perhaps he had just arrived in Novus? It wouldn’t be the first time that a stranger had simply fallen into the lands of the Day Court, nor would it be the first time that Seraphina had witnessed someone just after their arrival. With that in mind, she waited patiently for whatever he might have to say; if he really was a newcomer, he would be looking for a home, and she would not be apt to turn anyone away from her court right now. At the very least, she could lead him to the Oasis so he didn’t die of thirst before he found his way out of the Mors, a grim fate that she had seen all too many fall victim to in her years among the sands. @Astarot - hi <3 RE: Burn baby burn - Astarot - 11-21-2017 Astarot
As he gazed out over the seemingly endless sands of sea his ears flicked backwards. He huffed once wondering who was had spotted him. Casually he turned and looked at the fast approaching new comer. The horse he discovered was nothing like he had pictured in his mind. He had assumed a stallion would be out here, probably patrolling. Instead a stunning dainty mare was moving gracefully over the dunes. Her coat was a silver grullo with darker points and snowy white markings wrapping around her neck and legs. How long had it been since he had come across another horse, much less a mare as pretty as she. As she drew closer he caught sight of her dual colored eyes. It was rare for him to find others with separately colored eyes. What was more interesting was to see that both of their left eyes were blue. A calm smile settled over his handsome features as she spoke to him. He noticed her eyes roaming over his untidy frame causing his muscles to flex of their own accord. He dipped his head low showing his respect, "It seems that way Miss. I seem to have wondered through a portal." He chuckled softly, sounding only slightly hollow. It was nice to be able to speak to someone even if she was a stranger. "My name is Astarot." It was strange not telling her what herd he hailed from. Shoving the sorrowful thought away he turned his attention back to the silver lady. "I'm sorry if I am trespassing on your land." He paused dipping his head again before continuing, "What is the name of this land?" His ears tipped forward as his head tilted slightly to the right. He had spoken to several horses that were in the exact situation he now found himself it. Now he understood why they had looked so lost. Did he look scared or confused like so many of the other he had spoken to in the Threshold had been? Slowly, so he wouldn't seem threatening, he lifted himself up to his full height. He didn't want to seem weak, every instinct screamed for him to stand tall show he could handle himself. His father's voice echoed in his head, deep and powerful telling him to suck it up. His ear flicked slightly as if he could dismiss the dragon king. This was his world now, not his father's. he assumed most people here would have no idea about his past. They would only see a stranger, someone they could learn to like. The stallion shifted his weight so he was standing with his weight spread equally. He was a proud creature and he didn't want a stranger to see him at his weakest. The obsidian horse head totem laying on his chest flashed in the sunlight as he looked down at the mare. He wondered if she did belong to a herd and if he would be accepted there. He was tired of hurting and being alone. He wanted to find a home, at least for a while. If he did ever find some of his family, he would have somewhere to bring them back to. For the first time in a long time he felt as if he had a purpose. --------------------------- Talk Words :: 548 No problem! Sorry it took so long <3 - table by Niki - |
