a hunger gnawing - Random Events - 11-12-2019 the way of the wolves It is a bright, clear day in Terrastella and a maned wolf named Neema finds herself in the meadow for a hunt. She hasn't eaten in a short while and can already feel her stomach grumbling and begging for food. She decides the fields are a good place as any to catch some smaller prey for a quick meal. Neema moves slowly and uses all of her senses to detect any sign of prey. It takes a moment, but she notices the tall grass swaying ahead and the scent of rabbit reaches her nose. Her ears perk up as she slowly stalks forward while being careful not to give away her location. She gets a glance of it between a break in the grass and sees it sitting there. The rabbit so far does not notice her and continues to happily munch on some blossoms. Neema waits for the opportune moment before pouncing which would hopefully be once the rabbit turns away from her. Before she can go forward, something else pounces on the creature with one swift movement. She lifts her head higher above the grass and frowns. As she walks towards where the other creature has stolen her food, she realizes that it's a timber wolf and it has already started eating. When it notices Neema, it snarls a warning and is obviously protective of its kill. Deciding it'd be better not to start a fight, she tucks her tail between her legs and quickly turns the other way. Her stomach is still growling, but she feels a bit nervous to try and hunt if a pack of wolves are around. She sighs and curls up into a ball in the grass. Maybe if she hides out long enough, they will go away and then she'll have her chance to hunt. A gnawing hunger will pester @Uzuri and she might feel a pull to travel to the fields. Upon arriving, she might stumble upon a sad and hungry looking maned wolf and be compelled to help. She may even feel an odd connection once she meets the creature. RE: a hunger gnawing - Uzuri - 11-15-2019 Pure of Heart
Training had been a farce that morning, the blue roan splash mare snorting as she left the training fields. She had been unable to focus on anything for more than a few moments, and the stallion that was leading training had sent her away with a snorting irritation. Lifting into the air on her powerful, multi colored wings, she flew aimlessly through the clear skies. Uzuri loved the feeling of the air tickling her feathers, the feeling like fingers through hair. But even that love for flying was not enough to hold her mind in one train of thought. Her head was jumbled with thoughts that made no sense to her and were driving her nuts.Over a series of lush green fields, Uzi felt the overwhelming desire to have her peach hooves touching the soil. Shaking her head and frowning, Uzuri tipped her wings and allowed gravity to pull her muscular frame back toward the earth. When her light hooves touched the thick grass, she took a moment to listen to the world around her as gravity reasserted itself on her body. The meadow was quiet, though she could hear the sounds of wolves in the distance. Uzi flicked her tail as she tucked her wings, chocolate eyes alert for any danger that could present itself. The scent of a fresh kill tickled her nose and she saw the remains of a rabbit that had been the victim of a predator. She had a moment of calm as she reminded herself that she could easily take to the skies should wolves attack her. "Probably one of the wolves that I keep hearing. Poor thing, even though predators need flesh to feed their hunger as much as a horse needs grasses." She muttered as she continued to walk through the meadow. Her blue painted ivory leg landed next to a orange creature that leapt up with a yelp. Leaping back with her wings flaring and prepared to take to the air, Uzi stared at the creature and tried to connect what she was with the fear that had caught the young soldier off guard. Taking another step back to give the maned wolf a little space, she lowered her head and tried to look as unassuming as possible. In the back of her mind, she could hear Coy telling her that it was pointless and to not bother trying to look less intimidating. The muscles would ruin it. "Easy there. I mean you no harm." She cooed to the canid, hoping to calm her. Uzuri took in the creature's appearance. She was thin, though her thick coat masked some of the truth about how thin. Uzi had never seen a maned wolf with white markings, but this little creature had her fair share and was quite the striking little thing. Acidic green eyes were staring at her nervously and it made Uzi's heart flutter as she watched the little female. "I promise... I wont hurt you little one." Uzi's mind went though the information that she had read about the canid before her, remembering that maned wolves would eat fruits and tubers as well as insects and small animals. Taking a few steps away, she used her pale hooves to dig up some roots, as well as grabbing a few fruits from her bag that she had packed for snacks as she had time during training. Bringing all of the foods to the young creature, she stepped back to let her eat without too much pressure and kept a fair eye on the world around them for any danger. The young mare was feeling protective of the creature before her, connected in a way that she was not used to. @Random Events Notes: should be roughly 600 words <3 |
