he had managed to convince her parents she could be let out to explore, and although she had plenty to do readying things for the greenhouse, she decided that she would go and find the end of the world her brother talked about. the bridge was daunting at first; she had wanted to turn back and hide - but there were things here that needed to be seen, knowledge to be gathered and passed on for the next generations.so she watched the small crustaceans scuttle across the sand and among the ocean’s rocking waves, hiding behind seaweed and piles of rock and sand. she leapt among the piles, scattering the small creatures with a care free laugh. but as the tides recede a sudden flash of light caught her eye. nestled within the seaweed sat a large pearl, reflecting a rainbow of colors on it’s surface.
or was it an egg?
it was big enough to be an egg, but just to be sure; she gave it a good nudge with her muzzle. "are you an egg?"
