A V D O T Y A SHE WAITS; SEETHING, BLOOMING.
She looked to Eik through the side of her molten eye and shrugged an idle shoulder. "Solterra is a volatile land, dear Eik," her voice was almost akin to a coo, though it was laced with a hint of venom that so easily dripped from her tongue, "as are its people." He would be wise to heed her words if he sought to survive the Day Court. If the altercation he was witnessing now - as crude as it was - did not bear enough proof of that, he would surely find out with time. The desert nation was no place for the weak of heart; it did not hesitate to weed out those unfit for life among the dunes.
Avdotya had tuned Maxence and Velorca out for the moment she spoke with Eik, but she began listening in time to hear the cinereal stallion's reflection of ill-fated past kings. It left the conversation hanging in dead air, sending the winged sovereign away after one final retort.
The viper of a mare awaited Maxence's disappearance. She held her tongue until he was out of earshot, then turned her gaze to the silvery man once more as if Eik was no longer standing beside her. "You must truly yearn for death, Velorca." She said scornfully. It would have been evident to her fellow Davke that she was holding back, that there was plenty more Avdotya wished to say, but this was not the time nor place. "We will talk later." The woman turned, pausing to look at Eik one more time before her departure. "It was a pleasure." A snake-like smile curled her lips and away she went. There was other business to attend to, today.
