THE LAW

SOVEREIGN: Maxence
("Commander")

REGENT: Avdotya
EMISSARY: Seraphina

WARDEN: Torstein
CHAMPION OF WISDOM: Inkheart
CHAMPION OF BATTLE: Leviathan
CHAMION OF HEALING: Oz
CHAMPION OF COMMUNITY: Bexley

ALLIED COURTS:
NEUTRAL COURTS: Dawn, Dusk, Night
ENEMY COURTS:

G E N E R A L..

  1. Presently any character may join the Day Court - We do not discriminate against age, gender, breed, orientation or species.
  2. The patron god of Solterra and the Day Court is Solis. Worship of any other god/goddess while under the protection of Solis is GREATLY unfavourable and to speak poorly of Solis is punishable by the Regime. PD*
  3. Alliances must be maintained. Any mistreatment of allied court members will be punishable by the Sovereign. !!*
  4. Herd meetings called by the Sovereign are compulsory and rank meetings called by the Champions must be attended by those within the rank. Failure to attend will result in community service and/or grounds for demotion. !!*
  5. The Day Court aims to work as a family built on respect, safety and freedom. Violence of any kind towards other Day Court citizens outside of the battleground is strictly forbidden. Crimes like murder and rape will be subject to trial by the regime (See CRIME).  PD*
  6. As a tribe of warriors with our barracks in the harsh north, it is not an ideal place for raising families. Food and water is scarce and vital healing herbs can be days away. It is because of this that the sovereign has deemed pregnancies forbidden for the time being. PD*
  7. Herd activities and goals are not compulsory but the Court's growth depends on your participation. !!*

  • Utmost respect must be shown to those of higher rank. Warriors are required to salute to the Warden, Champions, Emissary, Regent and Sovereign. (A salute = a stomp of the right hoof, head held high and confident.) Lack of respect toward superiors can lead to demotion.
  • Utmost respect must be shown to those who risk their lives and fight as warriors of the Day Court. Commoners and youths are encouraged to hail their arrival when they return from patrols and battles, and show appreciation for their dangerous work by making the effort to send for caretakers and provide food and water.
  • Utmost respect must be shown to the commoner who presents the warrior with a bounty.
  • Utmost respect must be shown to the caretaker who heals the warriors wounds and cleanses the village of epidemics.
  • Utmost respect must be shown to the sage who's knowledge has no limit, without whom the caretaker would not know how to cure the village.

  • Any visitor to the land of Solterra must wait in designated areas related to their court: Night and Dusk Court visitors must wait at the southern border of the Elatus canyon. Dawn Court visitors must wait at the westernmost point of the Mors desert where it meets the Viride forest. All visitors may be subject to questioning from any Day Court representative and may be denied entry.
  • Any visitor found beyond these designated points or within the lands of Solterra is considered an intruder and has entered at their own risk. The laws which protect its citizens and welcomed visitors no longer apply, thus intruders can be subject to any manner of harm at the hands of other intruders or Day Court members without the threat of prosecution.

  • Petty crime (theft, a brawl, etc.) is to be assessed by the sovereign and punished accordingly, usually community service or hard labor.  PD*
  • Serious crime like murder or rape will be subject to trial under the careful judgement of the regime. Punishment is decided by the sovereign. PD*
  • Capitol punishment in Solterra under the reign of Maxence will depend on the crime. (This can range from something quick and painless, to long and painful) PD*

THESE LAWS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

K E Y...

PD* - Plot Device; This law/rule is ONLY an IC plot device and is only intended to reflect my character's opinions and beliefs, plus add a hiccup to the plot. You wont be breaking herd rules by doing what these say not to do - you'll only be making things more interesting! (Technically most of these laws are PDs, but labelled ones are the ones that stand out)
!!* - These rules/laws are important and we rely on these for the success of the court.
