She had grown thinner.

In the months that she lived off of gritty roots and water, the richness of Delumine’s palace larder had slowly slipped from her bones. A body that was once rounded with soft curves and feminine swells was now lanky, bony; all sinew and knobby joints rising from a coat that had dulled with malnutrition. For this, and for the chill that seeped through the autumn air, Llewelyn remained nestled within the plush confines of her cloak. The emerald garment had become a constant companion to the mare, a singular reminder of the life she lived before the earth had spewed murder into the sky.

It had been several days since she had left the Veneror and it’s asylum of theology encased within crumbling walls. In those hours, she had witnessed no horrors, no hellspawn running after her in the night; it made the scholar wonder if the world had simply bucked the population from it’s skin at last. After all of the strife and struggle that had been laid out upon the earth’s surface, Llewelyn wouldn’t blame Mother Nature for cleansing herself of such a mortal plague.

Not that she wanted to die, gods no, the idea of impending death was what had sent the maiden to the cloisters. But that was the way a creature’s mind worked, wasn’t it? The individual was always the exception. The entire earth could perish, but not me! No, never me. Don’t you know that despite being painfully, obviously, horribly mediocre in every aspect, that I’m special? The courtier smirked to herself, the habit of holding conversations within her mind distracting just enough of her attention that she didn’t notice the pile of droppings until they squished - lukewarm and soft - beneath a pristine hoof.

With a hiss, Llewelyn bared her teeth and glared down at the wretched mess spread upon the bottom of her hoof, a disgusted frown quickly blossoming over blackened lips.

“The planet bucks and vomits into the skies, the world nearly ends, and these barbarians are still littering their... leavings” Her grimace deepened, “Just scattered on the ground!?”

There truly was no help for her kind.
