Caelum
and if the house just keeps on winning
i got a wildcard up my sleeve
and if love keeps giving me lemons
i'll just mix 'em in my drink
The little fae checked herself in the mirror one last time.

A quick glance told her what she already knew. Her hair had been bound back from her face, braided halfway down her neck before being allowed to flow free - to make sure the long moonspun strands wouldn't obscure her vision during the long flight. A cloak was bundled around herself, protecting the bag she wore beneath that carried different supplies, but mostly empty vials for further collecting. She'd borrowed the outfit just the other day for this very flight, and gathering mission. To ensure that while she was up in the higher altitudes, she wouldn't be exposed to as much freezing feather. She was a summer faerie, that meant the cold did not agree well with her.

Sighing, she knew she couldn't put it off any longer.

She fluttered out of her shop, ensuring it was properly closed down, and locked up behind her, before she took off into the air, and began to make the long trek through the skies towards Dusk Court. She was relieved that despite the chill, the sun was shining, and thus promising her an easier journey that a more unpleasant day might have produced. And the warmth of the sun upon her wings, heating her body beneath the thick winter cloak, helped as well. The journey still took more than two or three hours. But finally she had landed in the courtyard of the current sovereign of Dusk Court. The maiden bowed her head regally to the guards positioned at the front door of the Citadel, her ears perked forward, stepped forward, ignoring the small bunches of flowers that blossomed at her hooves with each step. She'll apologize for that later, "Pardon me, I do beg your forgiveness for your intrusion. I wish to request an audience with your king. My name is Caelum Knoxx, I am but a humble tea shop owner, and medic with Denocte, but wish to be granted permission to gather herbs upon his land, as well as arrange a meeting with whomever he has appointed head of the hospital regarding some recent developments in the nature of medicinal application.

It was the first time using her full name in public.

While prior she feared the surname would be recognized, as it had been the surname to the royal family of the Summer Fae for so long; her fears had subsided with continued time of hiding in Novus with no one recognizing her (beyond Luvena). But she knew requesting audience with a king, particularly unannounced; was an art form . . . thankfully the runaway fae queen knew every brush stroke and medium for this particular art form, and as she stood tall, proud, and every ounce of an individual who lived and breathed politics, and completely in her element, she just hoped it would be enough to grant her an audience.

Liam Kenway

Once more, the great stallion was patrolling, keeping himself occupied.

There wasn't much of a change happening, but still, Liam wanted to keep himself active and busy, especially in the winter months. Whenever it got too cold, there was an uncomfortable ache in, not only his bones, but his entire being. Something about being trapped in ice for as long as he was before being thawed out did something to a body, and the coppery stallion is sure that it did something to him. As he walked, brief plumes of air gusted from Liam's nostrils as he breathed deeply, the cold wind sending shivers down his spine. No matter how many winters he'd experienced, they never got any easier. At least his winter coat was thick, and he could always go and grab a blanket should he ever need one.

Turning in a tight circle, the stallion began to slowly make his way back from the edges of the Praistigia Cliffs, having made sure that everything was still going well in all the Terrastellan lands. The Praistigia Cliff highlands were calm, quiet, with the silence broken only by the sounds of the crashing waves beating against the cliff faces. It was nearly like a lullaby, something that Liam found himself immensely relaxed by. If only for a moment, anyway. When he closed his eyes and allowed himself to get lost in the sound of the crashing waves, the memories of drowning, of the heartache that Bucky and Melpomene had both had to deal with. After recovering from his depression and everything that came along with that, the stallion had gone back to Melpomene, sought her out, and had apologized. She hadn't exactly accepted his apology, preferring instead to call his actions dumb and she even called him dumb. Which, okay, he deserved that.

It'd been an incredibly dumb thing to do, and ever since then, Liam was wary of water and grateful for being alive, grateful that he was able to keep going when things got tough. As he approached the Citadel, he saw a smaller equine at the entrance, apologizing for intruding, and asking for an audience with him. There's something about her that seems familiar, but Liam brushes it off, his focus instead captured by the small bunches of flowers that dotted the floor in the mare's footsteps. Interesting. The guards at the entrance to the Citadel glance at each other when they hear the mare — Caelum — request a meeting, but Liam quickly steps forward, his lips curling at the corners. "I think you're looking for me. I'll be more than happy to have a meeting with you, Ms. Caelum. I'm Liam Kenway. Guards, thank you for your service," he gave them a soft smile before dipping his head in respect to them, brushing past them into the main part of the Citadel.

As he walks into the building, he glances to his right, watching Caelum. "So you're wanting to speak with me to obtain permission to gather herbs on Terrastellan land?" He inquired, voice gentle and soft, diplomatic. Liam frowns for a few moments, pondering the pros and cons of allowing the mare to do what she wanted. The second part of her request was a little bit trickier. As far as he knew, there wasn't anyone who was head of the hospital. Was he— supposed to have appointed someone to that role? Flicking an ear back at his idiotic blunder, he huffs an embarrassed chuckle. "I have no qualms or issues with you gathering herbs on Terrastellan land. I welcome it, in fact. But for the second half of your request, I'm afraid I'm unaware of who is the head of the hospital. I should have visited the hospital before now, but it's been one of those things that have slipped my mind. If you would like to accompany me, we can go now, and we can speak with whoever is head," he offers, his expression inquisitive as he gazes at her.

"Liam Speaks."

Caelum
and if the house just keeps on winning
i got a wildcard up my sleeve
and if love keeps giving me lemons

The faerie queen startles at the voice behind her.

She spins around, but her pose is dignified, calm, carefully collected as she stands tall, eyeing the chestnut beast with a warm smile on her lips, but caution in her chocolate gaze. It's the gaze of someone who is used to being in such diplomatic settings and is prepared to ensure that the quarry being spoken with isn't someone with whom she must worry about stabbing her when she least expects. It's the look of someone who knows the ins and outs of the royal courtroom. And then the individual introduces himself as Liam Kenway, the Sovereign, and she relaxes, her smile growing brighter as he agrees to the meeting and dismisses the guards, and she follows him into the Citadel, flowers growing in each footstep as she nods to his inquiry, "Yes, I understand each of the lands around here have amble supply of different medicinal plants not found in the other courts. I aim to not only harvest the plants for my wares, but also take cuttings to attempt to grow them with in my own gardens for my furthered use." She agrees, her words cultured, respectful.

It's almost alarming how easily she slips into this persona.

At the frown on his face, he hesitates, wondering if this wouldn't be as smooth as she had hoped. Should she have sent a missive first, requesting a meeting to prepare him for his requests? How do 'simple medics' send messages? Her practice in such acts included royal seals in the Seat of Summer after all. And today she was just a medic, just a tea shop over. Just Caelum. She'd been just Caelum for long enough to begin to offer her last name. To begin to let herself be more of her own individual. All while praying no one would recognize the surname of the ruling class of Fae, the surname of the fae who reigned over Summer, over the Courts of Fae kind in her part of the world.

She tilts her head, waiting patiently for his conclusion.

His chuckle has her turning her chocolate gaze his way, expression curious before a delight smile crosses her muzzle at the reassurance that she may gather herbs from the land, welcoming it even. However at his comment of the hospital, she pauses, tilting her head in a small frown, "Oh, was her simple, but perplexed response before she laughs, nodding her head gently "I am more than happy for the company and escort to the hospital. I appreciate the assistance on this matter." She graciously accepts, another warm smile softening the brown of her eyes to almost caramel, "Please, do lead the way!"
