IT MUST BE LONELY
when you're up there looking down

Fixing Solterra hadn't been easy - it still isn't . But signing up for a Festival seems to have been one of his worse plans . But he's on decent terms with Delumine , and selling his wares here may provide the funds and items necessary to build the Court up , and foster good connections . He can't keep burning bridges , though he's lit so many that the world is ash and smoke around him , to match his coat .

Large ears swivel , and he feels the claws digging into his spine , dragging over the fresh scars as the adolescent Indoraptor sits on his haunches , much bigger than she's been . Enyo is growing fast , and he adores her entirely .

" Are you going to sit and preen your feathers , or are you going to help me ? " He snorts it at her as he finishes off setting up the stall , only to buck slightly until she dislodges herself with a grumble and shakes her body , sending dust from the feathers up as she finishes cleaning the keratin off of a bunch of them to free them from their casings to be on full display . " Coming , coming . " It's a grumble of a reply but she flashes a mouth full of teeth at him , and he flashes his own golden fangs in return to her , earning a soft chirrup .

With her help , it's easier to set up the array of necklaces and other forged beauties he's created in his off time . Blacksmithing is one way to keep his mind off of ... well . Everything else .

But he can enjoy this Festival , he hopes .

One might say this was not a place that you'd normally see Illo. Then again, one could say they'd never seen her. Since her time in these lands had started, the none beyond the two she'd met in her very first encounter had set eyes on her golden flesh. She'd spent a lot time grappling with the loss of her dragon and clinging to the few moments that she felt it move through her mind. It wasn't like her to brood, but it was hard to imagine not being able to flex her talons or bare her fangs when anger stirred in her gut.

She moved quietly, diamond eyes crudely assessing the the bustling crowd as she pressed through the swarming mass. There wasn't much home for staying hidden when her hide was made of literal gold. Though some might envy her form, her scales rattled along her back anytime another eyes lingered for more than a moment. How many times had she bared her teeth and bemoaned the fact that she no longer had fangs to bare? Why was she even here, she questioned? Golden hooves clinked harshly against the cobblestones. She tried to remind herself that she was here to shake herself from her brooding. Forcing herself to mingle with others would certainly give her little time to wallow in whatever pity or loathing had ensnared her mind lately.

Her eyes traveled over the venders wears as she moved through, finding very little worth stopping for. She had no need for jewelry and very little desire to actually stop and talk to anyone, much less a vendor trying to sell her something. Still, that didn't stop her from finding her gaze falling on a particular piece as she moved through the crowd. She found herself drawing to a stop as her cold eyes assessed the piece where it dangled in the stall. She'd never worn jewelry, so why start down? She was literally made of what others usually crafted these things from anyway. Onyx, gold, diamond? She wore it all, day and night.

Her eyes traveled to who she assumed was the vender, as he finished setting up the stalls. She hesitated to say anything, but this particular piece struck her fancy when not much else really had. Her dragon moved through her mind for but a moment, her eyes shifting between their normal pupils to draconic ones for but a mere moment, as if it had seen something it too fancied and was urging her to purchase it. She doubted she could afford much, but if her dragon wished her to speak, well why not?

"Excuse me..." She spoke, her voice soft but far less awkward and hesitant than she'd assumed it would sound. "Did you make these yourself?" She queried, standing awkwardly before him realizing it might be a pretty stupid question. Certainly there were some vendors selling goods they themselves had not made, no? She huffed internally, for once willing the dragon within to disappear because this was certainly not going to go well for her.
