Come to me in the night hours
I will wait for you

Having as little fondness for the sunlight now as he had before, Eidolon attempted to stay under the trees to avoid it. He found the shade so much more pleasant, and to think this was only spring. Admittedly, the foliage was gorgeous and full of life; incredibly pleasant to the eyes and nose. Even the birdsongs held whimsical notes that lead his mind to peaceful thoughts. Even making him forget his dislike of the sunlight every now and again. It was the sort of calm contemplation he originally thought could only be found in the darkest void. Both different types of those same feelings and valuable in their own way. Come to think of it, he had never really gotten the chance to enjoy nature like this before. And he found, if he stood or laid still enough, eventually the smaller creatures would wander closer. Was this how Jezanna felt back where the two of them came from? A wonderful feeling indeed.

Speaking of that woman, she had ventured off again: determined to be as far from him as possible. It irked him, but he would not go so far as to corner her. Let her explore this new world, see what it had to offer, think of it as home. Maybe then tensions would ease between them. In the meantime, he would do the same. This newfound freedom was a blessing he sorely appreciated. Limited and mortal as he was, never before had he felt so in tune with something greater. Honestly, he found so much excitement to be had in this new life.

Musings still wafting through his mind like clouds coming and going along the blue sky above, Eidolon almost did not notice the woman treading at the water’s edge of the lake. She appeared like he imagined a dragon might; scaled with horns and reptilian wings. A curious looking appearance but he was not one to talk. From what he had seen of others of his court, Eidolon was a bit of an oddity. Feeling particularly curious, he walked at a graceful stride towards her, calling out when he got near, “Would you like any assistance?” It appeared that she was gathering a specific herb.
