PYXIS
A GENTLE SOUL

He didn't... understand. Pyxis was far too young to know why his father was burying the one that gave birth to him, or why the one that gave birth hadn't woken up. So the tiny kirin only asked why, and his father gave a response, something along the lines of lights and darkness, and he still didn't understand.

It had been a long day though, and he was still a small and sickly thing, curling up to his father's legs as he tucked up to rest, closing his eyes and beginning to breathe steady and even.

Even so, he heard the rumble of his father's voice, and lavender eyes blinked slowly, his head lifting, the nubs of antlers covered with soft streaks of hair, scales shimmering as he moved himself to stand. Rather than ask his father, he turned himself, letting out a soft squeak at the figure of a large horse (though everyone was larger than him).

"W-who...?" The word stammered from his mouth, and he blinked as he squinted a little. The sun was going down slowly, and already, his vision was getting bad. He could barely see in the shadows now at this time of day... he was just glad for the sunlight still out, so he could see the face of the bigger horse.
