He stepped back, turning on the boardwalk to reach over and lift up another piece of parchment, once again wetting the quill and scribing out a short message for the one who may or may not receive it.

He followed the same procedure as before, resting the quill back in the ink while he dried the note, before folding it and poking a hole in the corner, threading ribbon through the puncture as before.
He pondered how to address it, before distantly remembering the way others had murmured and spoken of the warrior mare, writing out the epithet as was her due.

He returned the quill back to the ink once more, walking a ways away to tie the note onto another branch further down, away from his first note. He wanted to scatter them out, whether that was the by product of just wanting to improve the scenery by not having them all clumped together, or the anxious whispers that he'd be mocked for feeling the need to leave so many messages, was undetermined. Either way, he gently but firmly knotted the ribbon, leaving the note to hang there for the recipient to see, should she ever come by.
