Quote of the Season
"If Reich had been the gunsmoke, Rhoswen was the gun - their youth swayed like washing in the wind, peaceful and unassuming, as though if they tried hard enough they might be able grab hold of it. Wasn't that the deceit of peaceful things? They drifted like butterflies just out of your reach." — Rhoswen in she was always meant to be a star

She had made her way to the fields in her new home. The field was covered in a layer of white snow. something she rarely saw back in her homeland. She lowered her nose down to the snow and nosed at it for a moment. Her coat coloring stood out against the pristine white snow, since her coloring was so dark against it. Large wings were folded against her sides, and her hooves crunched in the snow as she walked through the field. The demigoddess was nervous, and her head was constantly on a swivel. Her flee from her homeland had made Aibreann nervous, always looking over her shoulder. Who knew when or if those who had attacked her homeland would track her down and find her?

Her mismatched eyes looked around, watching for other equines on the horizon. Aibreann pawed at the ground, and using the help of her wings and antlers cleared a spot on the ground of snow so that she could see the grass beneath the blanket of snow. The chimera mare cleared enough snow from the ground to create a spot that she could lay down on the ground. Laying down, she wrapped her wings around her to keep warm. Her antler chains glinted against the snow, casting a glimmer on the snow. Her leather satchel was still slightly hidden beneath her large wings, even if they were wrapped around her to keep her warm. The only part of her coloration that matched the snow was the large white blaze down her face. The demigoddess was a sight to see with her bicolored body and eyes, not to mention the gold and silver antlers and hooves. A sigh escaped her. "I miss you mom, dad and sis... I hope you are still okay..." Aibreann said with a soft sigh.

I S O R A T H
— you will ache as I ache—
tenderly, tragically, beautifully.

Snow had once been a curiosity to the Regent. One which followed and nipped at the gruff eastern lords and their shaggy coats, and one which pinched at his hide in his youth. It had been when his mother had seen fit to weather a winter in the Drosvarl Fortress, at the behest of the current Lord. He remembered the chill, far colder than the one which gripped Novus now, entwined with wild magic and those who called the wailing mountains home.

When he'd left, the snow and frosted landscapes had become more common, but their beauty remained. Wrapped in his finery, he had set out from the Citadel with no real purpose but to be, let the frigid wind wash over his silvery hair and invade his senses. In the pristine landscape he positively glowed, all porcelain and beaten gold, draped in pale constellations and tulle, the sunlight peering through the clouds having draped him in it's embrace.

Usually, the fields were frequented with other winter lovers, those who adored the frigid chill pulling at their hair, and those who would make mischief. Lilac eyes spied them now, various shapes upon the rolling banks and inclines, wrapped in their cloaks. However, it was not them that drew his bejeweled gaze, the Regent was drawn to a solitary figure. Curiosity sparked, his head tilted as he mulled over the sadness such a silhouette provoked, striking appearance aside. Some were solitary creatures true, but this...

One sweep of his impressive wings sent the kirin airborne in a flurry of startled snow, twinkling like glitter in the light as he glided over, stepping down just in front of her. "You look troubled."  He stated simply, softly, his voice musical and quiet.

The mare lifted her head with a start as she heard the voice of another equine. Her wings instinctively spread slightly, ready to take off should she need to shove off her hooves quickly. Aibreann was easily startled, her senses on high alert since she wasn't sure those who attacked her homeland wouldn't follow her here. Her bicolored eyes stared at the ivory and golden stallion. The stallion had antlers, like her own, but he had scales as well. Something she'd never seen on any equine from her homeland. She was startled, surprised to see another approach her.

"H-Homesick... Missing my family..." Aibreann stuttered, her large eagle wings still slightly spread in case the stallion proved to be a foe rather than an enemy. Her appearance was a striking one to most, though to her the stallion's appearance was a striking one. He had quite an interesting appearance. Part of her wondered where the stallion could possibly be from, with an appearance like the one he held. Bat-like wings rather than feathered. A tail that was only haired at the end of it. He had a curious appearance, and it intrigued the chimeric mare.
