There may be strength in numbers, but this herd did not know her and she did not know them. Who here was able to take down the winged thunderbirds? Who had the skill in battle that she had? Regrettably, she did not know her court’s strengths well enough to offer much support other than her vow to protect them should something happen. Perhaps that would be enough. She watches as the rest of the group looks antsy with the threat of battle upon them. For once, she feels relaxed. For once she feels no anxiety. She simply stands there, patient, knowing that the first move was not hers to make. She had to let the thunderbirds make their move first. Katniss was not usually one to start wards but she certainly would finish them. She takes a deep breath, letting a sense of calmness take over her. She thinks about the win that they will encounter and she knows they will see victory. “Do not let them scare you. We will see victory tonight.” It meant to be a pep-talk, to encourage the others to not lose hope. They would defeat this evil, even if they may not believe so.
