[Katniss]

Katniss listens to Isra’s story and she has to pause her thoughts and really listen. At first she had found Isra strange and unsure if the mare would find a friend in Katniss. But as she listens to the story, she wonders for a moment if she and Isra are more alive than she had previously believed. Isra was suggesting a peaceful companionship, a truce, per say. It seemed like a good idea if the thunderbirds would have it. Katniss had learned that it was far easier to try and live in peace with one another than to constantly be at war. While peace was hard to maintain, it was better for all parties. After what seems like a long period of silence following the queen’s words, Katniss offers the group a soft smile. She understands their queen and for once, she agrees with her. “Peace sounds like a wonderful idea…” She pauses as he eyes look up to the thunderbirds. She wonders if they would be as accepting to peace as she was. “…but do the thunderbirds want peace as well?” Her question is left in silence as she looks around at the group. They are a unique gathering, but they would serve each other well, she hoped. It is then that the birds begin to move and she watches them. She watches the way they fly overhead until eventually, they begin to scatter. Katniss watches them. It is only when the God speaks that she turns her head towards him and offers a nod of agreement. Yes, Isra did have a gift.
