It seems to Solis that driving the herd takes the better part of the day, the sun beginning its decent down to the western horizon - but his impatient nature only adds to the subjectiveness of it. Has it really only been a few hours? he finds himself thinking with an irritated toss of his head. It feels more like days!
Slowly but surely, with a few runaway or stubborn elk to hinder the process, the Day Court reaches the plains outside the border of their Court.
At that point the herd breaks, scattering off in different directions. Solis pulls back, his sliding to a stop with a snort. The god hardly seems fazed, his breathing light and even, which is more than can be said for the rest of the company.
Then, he starts to laugh.
“Look at them run!” he chortles, practically prancing in joy. “It already feels warmer without them!”
The god can hardly find it in him to care where the beasts wander now, so long as they don’t make their way to his Court. In fact, he feels fairly confident that Tempus will be the one to collect his little creations once more, no doubt saving them for the next time he’d like to play referee on Novus.
