OH, TO BE HERE ON THE GROUND
To El Toro’s delight, further mayhem broke out between the various attendees, and as Toro chased off his assailant as a bull a matador, Avdotya was pulled into some manner of unpleasantry herself. Toro disentangled from a now wheezing and bruising stranger in time to hear her threatening words. (Though, he thought, it sounded more like a promise). When she turned to him, Toro grinned. ”I like you. You’re fucking crazy.” The party had quieted momentarily and in the lull El Toro could hear the heavy hooves of authority. The woman who briefly tangled with Avdotya (at least verbally; he presumed she would be dead otherwise) was marching forward with a handful of Denoctian guards. He grinned at Avdotya. ”Right, well. We better get outta here. See you around, spicy lady.” And with that, he shoved through the crowds and out the door. He was too tipsy to be thankful for the mask, but he would be the next morning for certain.
