El Rey merely follows him with his eyes as he passes, statue-like in the dark. He wonders at this answer, these heavy words, these promises. Do, will, sure. Definite words, far-seeing words, promise-words. He thinks it must be special to have that kind of dedication to a thing, and not simply for the doing of it; the power it carries in the heart, the power to do something of one’s own volition, the promise to do that thing and to command the air with its certainty. It is something El Rey has never had. He thinks he might like to, some day.
