What a good day to travel to the Day Court. What perfect weather. What a great idea! The one day of the week where she thought it would be perfect was turning into the exact opposite. First she'd set off from the Dawn Court in high hopes with hooves high and a smile that practically beamed to the heavens. Too bad it seemed that those in the heavens absolutely loved the idea of a practical joke. She'd been traveling for a few miles, feeling the burn but was sure she would reach the courts before nightfall but then it just had to start raining. One minute she was practically skipping along, the next the thunderclouds seemed to materialize out of nowhere... and then the downpour began.
She only had time to let out a dismayed squeal and try to tuck her book safely underneath her chin before the torrential downpour began. Oh... great... If she was a desert-dweller perhaps she would feel confident attempting to go on her way to the courts but as it was she'd never gone there alone and despite her sense of direction and the instructions she'd received... With the darkened landscape and her eyes barely able to stay open in the rain she wasn't exactly sure of where she was to go. The gazelle-marked maiden doggedly continued on in what she thought was the right direction but who was to say for sure? "Oh bother..." She muttered to herself, paused to spit rainwater out of her mouth, realized it was futile, then continued onwards once more.
It was by a sheer miracle that she noticed a figure up ahead, brown and white with large wings. A fellow equine heading in what appeared to be her direction. A feeling of elation filled her as she realized this could be a companion to help her along in this dreary weather. Thank, Tempus! She pushed herself forward towards her fellow and opened her mouth to let out a call as she neared, "Um, hello, e-excu-- She spat to the side, annoyed that her maw was being pattered with nasty rainwater. She cleared her throat and continued on a bit louder. "Excuse me! Is this the way to the Day Court!?" That was a bit better, at least she called out in a tone that was a normal speaking volume for most equines.
