Caelum
Shatter every window 'til it's all blow away
every brick, every board, every slamming door blown away
'til there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterday
The sun streamed through her window.

The sun touching her features had her making a face, distressed at it's touch, wishing to roll back over, pull the makeshift bedding up tighter. Her room was only partially finished - the bedding a mere stand in for what she would purchase when her shop was properly finished - she'd put so much time and focus into the making of her shop, and not the home part. Stepping up, however; she slowly stretches before she is starting her day, heading towards the door to take stock of what she could gain from the lake side.

There was plenty around.

She needed merchandise for the new shop after all - which meant, collecting herbs and flowers. Packing a bag of snacks for her trails, she stepped out of the house. Her gaze dancing for what to search for next. Her gaze skips over it at first; returning to it only after her second look around - the faintest hint of light along a path in the trees, twirling around. Her gaze turns curious as she slowly steps towards the flower-heavy path, beautiful but delicate. She is afraid to trample them - taking into the air so they can grow beneath her, her gaze looking around for the light.

She sees it ahead, twirling, dancing.

So she follows. The sounds of the forest begin to fade, to the whispers that grow louder, and stronger. Thrumming in time to a beat she cannot hear, but she feels in her heart. Bum. Bum. Bum. Bum. Steady, rhythmic, reassuring. She breaths out a soft sigh, before she continues in deeper, further, following the light, searching it out - getting closer. and closer, and closer. It hovers now, in front of her, and she can hear the voices louder; familiar but just out of reach. It's in that moment that the gleaming light suddenly lunges.

She doesn't have time to react.

It disappears inside her and she falls from the sky, instantly small animals check upon her, flowers curl around her limbs to offer her gentle reassurances. All around her; the world is suddenly so much more wild, so much more alive, so much more . . . known. For the first time, she smiles at the gift given, the knowledge that this was normal for fae of her species, to connect proper to the natural world, to feel it hum in time with her own blood. She stands, she nuzzles the animals away, and with her steps light, she makes her way home.

She wouldn't notice the flowers growing in her wake until later.

When she did, she would cry herself to sleep.

And in the morning; she would mourn the fact her mother's gift as queen had snuck itself in.

And she was one gift away from having the complete set.

The royal magic of the Summer Fae from her realm.

When she realizes this, not even nature can soothe that fear.
