Noxia
And it only hurts when I'm breathing
My heart only breaks when it's beating
Noxia had felt the heat of the summer sun as it pounded against her flesh. Aye, it wasn't that horrible, as she has been moving from spot to spot until the sun had started to fall. Yet, now, she was staring blankly at the sky. Stars were littering the navy sky in a gorgeous random pattern that had her awestruck. Yes, it was so much better than what she had been trying to think of lately. Here she could just allow her mind to wander - perhaps even sometimes begin the mess of counting each of the stars in order to force her thoughts off of what she was currently dealing with.

She would start her new home here. Yes, she would. She had promised herself that she would start over here - learn to love this Goddess of the Night. She had never been one for religion, but it seemed to be her best bet at the moment. Gently, she lowered her frame into a dip between a few hills and hid most of her frame in the tall grass. Her light frame just barely noticeable against the dark ground as her mane and tail curled up around her bodice. Baby blue orbs peer at the sky, and you can hear her mumbling out numbers into the night air.

Aye, she would start over. She would build her new home here. She would gain a new life, she would be able to do this. She knew that she would able to do this. Why? Simply because she had to do this. She had no other choice now that she was in these lands...

ON RAGLAN ROAD ON AN AUTUMN DAY
I SAW HIM FIRST AND KNEW
THAT HIS DARK HAIR WOULD WEAVE A SNARE
THAT I MIGHT ONE DAY RUE

The sky was beautiful tonight - a clear and vast expanse of millions of stars. They burned brighter here than anywhere else in Novus, partly Calligo's doing, perhaps. Reichenbach often watched them from a nook of shadows, calm and quiet on the Prairie while those in the city partied and sang, curling themselves around fire and wine (and in some cases, each other). There was a lot on his mind - a lot that could have potentially been fixed by joining the festivities, but he could not bring himself to grin with his usual wild abandon, nor drink and flirt.

Love had never been kind to the King of Thieves, it had always gripped him too hard, made him depend on it and then... well, he was alone.

He could see Noxia underneath the starlight, saw the gleam of silver upon her slim body and watched her soft lips move as she counted. She was calming to watch, another soul cast into confusion, dainty and sure in the heady summer night. Reichenbach could recall the evening he first met her, on the wildest of nights, two figures made small by the mountain they had stood upon - they'd sheltered together, even shared moments that had been... intimate. Yet nothing had come of it. He had not kissed her or lay a rough hand upon her soft skin, despite how beautiful she looked cast in the orange glow of firelight.

"Noxia"

He called, a low and melodic declaration that he was there, quiet but loud enough that she would hear him. After a moment he began to walk toward her, a slow and fluid walk bringing him closer, closer.

ON GRAFTON STREET IN NOVEMBER
WE TRIPPED LIGHTLY ALONG THE LEDGE

THE WORTH OF PASSIONS PLEDGED
