M A X E N C E
AN IRIDESCENT SOUL

The weather, luckily, was foul on that particular day. Maxence had grown so tired of the relentless sun and just one drop of rain or a single cloud in the sky would do them all good - finally that one day came in the shape of a summer storm on the coast. Spectacular from a distance, but only at a distance. The raindrops came and went, the skys only ever parting for a few seconds at a time to reveal gaps of sunlight in the overwise darkened day. The canyon was silent with not even a single crow out to feast on the impressive carrion the Solterran's had left for them, but such was the way of the weather.

The smell was nothing Maxence had not smelt before, that was for sure, though still he approached the rotting carcass with scrunches nostrils and creased eyelids; a crooked, twisted grimace. Hopefully Leviathan would arrive soon as requested; he'd hate to do this task alone.
Maxence had planned to leave most of the skeleton here intact for the years to come. What better warning for an intruder than a giant Teryr skeleton? It also proved that solterran's could and would do just about anything if they simply wanted to. They didn't even have to kill this beast, and yet they did.

What they would scavenge was another subject entirely. The claws, teeth and feathers he aimed to take for trophies, and if it could be done, he also wished to salvage the skin for armour or leather. It seemed the beast had near-impenetrable skin - a Teryr hide armor would be better than any plate and feather light no doubt.

LEVIATHAN
the supernova

It had been several days (more, he was certain) since they had killed the monstrosity known as the teryr. Now its carcass sat upon the canyon, a ripe stench wafting along the walls and through the air. It wasn't anything he hadn't encountered before either, and now that he was a little more healed, he walked with more ease, skin pulling tight around still healing wounds. Thanks to the aloe (a surprising gift from Torstein at the meeting), his wounds were a little more manageable each time he washed them. They were red and still scabby, but they were scarring up rather nicely, hardly pulling apart at the edges anymore.

The goliath wrinkled his nose a little, letting out an almighty snort at the reek of the corpse, drawing up behind where he had seen the Sovereign and looking over the body with little interest. Well, somewhat. Several feathers caught his attention as did a few bones that were beginning to poke through. More so the feathers, giant flight feathers, the bloodstains still sticking near the shafts.

"What a lovely day to rip apart a corpse." The sarcasm was palpable, but all the same, the titan smirked and pushed himself forward, closer to the body before he reached out. His telepathic ability was useful enough to pull at feathers, plucking them with more an ease than there should have been. "What do you want taken, other than feathers?" It was his way of asking 'What would you like me to get?'.

AN IRIDESCENT SOUL

The goliath's approach was welcomed by Maxence with a great stomp of his right hoof, a salute to his brother in arms as the gigantic creature stepped forth with a jest and uncommonly merry attitude about dissecting the Teryr's corpse. "Mm" The sovereign simply agreed, joining the solider in his sarcasm as his oceanic gaze crossed the canyon once more.

When Leviathan's question arose, the commander turned his attention to the carrion itself and began to inspect its wounds left by each of the fighters just a few days prior. "A few teeth, claws, feathers-" he paused, turning his nose over the stretching, greenish skin of the beast "And it's skin; did you see how hard it was to pierce? Harder than a whore's ass. It would make good leather and even better armour"

It was with that said that the newly corwned sovereign began the gruelling work, starting iwth a stomp to the sinking leg of the corpse with the aim to pull flesh from bone. "Try to keep the skeleton intact" He warned his companion "I want to keep it here - a warning" He soon spoke, to the man with a rare but wicked smile, confident that the skeleton of a Teryr would deter any from entering Solterra. It showed just how capable they were as a force, and that they were not to be trifled with.

LEVIATHAN
the supernova

A snort erupted from his nose, but Leviathan only cocked a grin at the other a moment, his torn ear swinging forward before he started nosing along the wounds themselves. There were plenty to work from, including larger gaping wounds that they could tear the skin away from, using them as starting points. Rather than say much else, he shook his mighty head and chose a spot a little ways from Maxence to begin the task of stripping away skin and bone. He himself plucked feathers and claws, laying them to the side where they could rest, and rooting himself around near the head to draw out teeth.

The wind wouldn't be able to carry away those trophies, and it was a good thing. It meant he wouldn't have to chase them down if the wind decided to pick up and send sand in their eyes. Up here it was more stench and heat than wind, where the roared in the canyon below, hot and like it was fresh from some sort of forge.

"If you say so," he grunted in response. The bones were hollow and easily broken (since the wings were atrociously shattered), but the other bones were a little harder to break. So long as he didn't strike them too hard, he found he could keep them intact, and he continued his work, using his telekinesis when and where he could to help the process move along, thankful for sharp rocks littering the ground by the dozens.
