Lavinia
MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY, BUT TRAIN IT TO KILL

Silver chains adorn fiery chestnut colored fur, swaying with the lady’s movements, and diamonds dangle and catch the light in her hair. Hair tightly braided, touched with just a hint of messy. Gold and silver chains twist around and into the dark and pale locks, held in place by a clasp of ribbon. Her head is held semi high, a trait she had never given up since entering this land. She may be a crow for her Night King but she was still a woman who enjoyed the finer things in life.

Cold eyes glance around the great hall, it is well decorated she supposes. She never expected to be here or to have a home, even after all these years it sounded too good to be true. As she walked through the halls, she passed servants and other workers who nodded to her in greeting. She returned each gesture with one of her own, but otherwise seemed distracted. There was much she wanted to do..but so little time to do it. She was also curious as to where her poison kissed twin could be, she hadn't seen her in a few days though she wasn't worried. Mila always went off for a few days to experiment new poisons.

ISORATH

The Night Court was colorful inside and out, their midnight banners flecked in starlight and the moons countenance did little to show the depth of whom wore them. Though he supposed that was what they wanted, this Court of Shadows and Intrigue, thieves and assassins. They were the stuff Vectaeryn loved to craft stories about, colorful characters with dark hearts and the shadows at their command. How the skalds of the East and Tellers of the West would be starstruck and enraptured by each and every one of them.

Romantic.

Perhaps it was foolish of him, to come here. In the wake of everything no less, but there was comfort in familiarity, to breathe freely without the feeling of the hangman's noose dangling temptingly in front of ones face. Isorath had danced with blades to the song of steel, had felt the cloying grasp of heat on his neck and not flinched. Yet, he could not deny to be free of the weight of it, just for a moment, was refreshing. It was welcome.

Aether's presence lingered in his mind, the Dragon could not fit within the walls of the Night Palace, but he loomed like an eternal sentinel upon it's walls — his breathing a rumbled purr of thunder looming overhead. Protective, the bond hummed with the word, even as the Dragon poked and picked at his memories and offered his uninvited opinions and thoughts.

He lingered in the Great Hall for no real purpose, cloaked in the very colors of the night — a subtle declaration paired with the moon charm on his tines for the Denoctians who had come to know his face well. However the glittering diadem sparkling proudly in the firelight, branding him unmistakably terrastellan. His usually pensive gaze was filled with something else, one emotion never sitting still before it bled into the next. A maelstrom made flesh and bone. It wasn't until a familiar face appeared in the corner of his vision did his lilac gaze waver from the throne and turn elsewhere, to the mare colored in sand and blood.

"Lavinia." He greeted with a wry smile, subtly shifting to better look at her. "You look as though you're a lady on a mission."

MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY, BUT TRAIN IT TO KILL

Distractions aside, her ears pricked forward at the sound of approaching footsteps. At first she thought it was only one of the servants coming to check on her or one of the crows come to seek her out, but as soon as she turned around she knew that wasn't it. The newcomer was someone she knew well for he spent many a days within these lands, it was Isorath a man she found both exciting and mysterious. If not for the fact he had caught the eye of her king she might have tried her hands at the foreign prince, but alas she would not do that to her Crow King. Her loyalty to Reich was absolute even if he was still with that Florentine or whatever her name was. She didn't understand the fascination with that flower child and she never would but still she remained quiet about her opinions. Rulers could be with whoever they pleased she supposed even if she thought they made the wrong choice about it at times.

Still thoughts aside she returned his smile with one of her own, a glint of mischief in her bright youthful eyes. "Perhaps not a mission..but I am searching for something regardless. I'm highly bored." She voiced with a long sigh leaving her lips. Which was true when she didn't have a job or task to do she became antsy and for a knife throwing assassin like her? That wasn't necessarily a good thing for anyone.

"And what of you hm?"

ISORATH

Perhaps not a mission..but I am searching for something regardless. I'm highly bored.

"Bored? In a place like this?" He retorted easily enough, the faintest hint of a smirk daring to slide across his fair features, take over the wry smile that had lingered there moments before. Then again, the more he thought of it, the more it struck him that Lavinia was a mare of action, the next interesting thing. The next dangerous thing. She wore her youth well — all that restless energy dressed in sand and blood. The never ending thirst to be satisfied by something, anything. The clash of steel, the glint of poison on a blade, the heat and sweat of exertion on the field of battle. Even the touch of another, the glint of teeth and passion of another kind in the air.

He remembered being young once, it had driven him to be reckless and impulsive, stoked him to an inferno, but he had burned out. All that passion, for every ounce of his being and motives, had crashed into the dirt. Isorath almost wanted to say his mother had been a smart mare to let him go, teach him humility and a lesson to temper that pride and fire. Perhaps Lavinia would have a different fate, temper that fire into something finer, a slow burn that burned hotter than the wildfire it once had.

And what of you hm?

"And what of me?" Isorath replied nonchalantly, a tilt of his head as he let out a contemplative breath. "Why I'm merely here to enjoy the view, though it is rather lacking of a thing I rather enjoy." He explained leisurely enough, his head tilted toward the throne he had been eyeing before. There should of been a figure of shadows and smoke sat there, but it lay empty. The King of Thieves, Stars and Smoke was no more than a shadow. A pity, he had hoped to see him. He felt no shame in admitting such things to Lavinia, the Crows and the Citizens of Denocte had come to know him well enough, the months spent here had given him that much.

"How about a walk in the gardens? Not the most thrilling, but at least it gives us something to do. Rather than stroll empty hallways and peer at even emptier thrones. We can even play a game as we go, a question for a question. No question is off limits. I'll even let you go first." He offered with a grin to match the mischief in her eyes, as he gestured toward the gardens.

LAVINIA

"Even starlit cities can bore me if there is no game to play." Lavinia replied with a slight grin. Every bit the youth and mischievous crow that she was and when she had nothing to do..it could either go badly for her or badly for Denocte. It probably depended on who you asked. As she eyed Isorath with her golden gaze she wondered about his life before he came to Novus. Wondered if she should ask or simply wait until the moment was right.

Her ears twitched at Isorath's words a slight knowing look briefly passed over her face. She could guess who he meant as her eyes fell on the empty throne she was standing near. In truth she had hoped to find her Crow King here if only to ask him if there was anything he needed done. But having Isorath here was just as good of a distraction. In truth she had been feeling lonely, her twin off somewhere experimenting and telling Lavinia to leave her be. Whenever Mila was like this it meant weeks perhaps months of not seeing her sister and that meant Lav needed to find others to speak to. A task that was easier said than done, she didn't make friends or trust anyone outside of the crows easily. Except for a small handful that is.

"Indeed it is lacking." Came her soft reply as she turned her head away from the throne to the pale princeling. When he mentioned a walk through the gardens and a game, a light shone in her eyes at the idea of a game. Questions aside she was curious about many things. "Sounds like a wonderful time." Lav took a few steps towards him and the gardens, her head angled slightly to look up at him. He was so much taller than her to anyone else it may have intimidated the young crow. But this was Isorath, a friend if only newly made and he did not frighten her.

"What was it like? Your homeland?"
