BUCKY & LIAM,
That mirth in Bucky's eyes was easily seen, and Liam couldn't help but huff gently in embarrassment. The love that he held for this stallion knew no bounds, but he didn't know how to truly express it. All he could do was to accept Bucky, love him on his bad days and hold him close and remind him that they weren't going anywhere. There had never been a moment where Liam was mad at his best friend, not even when they were young and growing and experiencing hormones that they had never expected. When faced with Bucky after an extended period of time away, never was anger, annoyance, or indifference a thought. Relief, happiness, exuberance were the only emotions and thoughts that he felt at the moment.
The soft sigh of relief had Liam's ears twitching and he nickered tenderly, pressing his slightly smaller frame that much closer to Bucky's. The other stallion was warm, and he smelled of Agnosia, and while Liam appreciated what he had in Novus, he felt a pang in his heart for their homeworld. He missed it -- and Aklos.
The love and desire he felt for Bucky were all consuming, and he felt like his lungs couldn't draw enough air in, and he felt like his heart was going to give out at any moment. "I've missed you so much," he breathed softly, wanting nothing more than to somehow crawl even closer to Bucky, even though he knew it to be impossible. Instead, the soft press of lips against where his neck and shoulder met in a gentle kiss had him trembling throughout his entire body, and he nickered again.
"God, I've missed you," he replied tenderly, leaning into the soft caress as much as he possibly could. Before this, there had been many nightmares of Bucky falling, plummeting to his death that day from the train, of being taken away for good. Every time, Liam awoke screaming, begging and pleading that Bucky come back, his coat and begging drenched in sweat. Each time, he had to go for a long walk in the night air to work out the trauma, to remind himself that, as far as he'd been aware, Bucky was alive and quite well.
Their time together had been dotted with several expanses of time apart. There was nothing more that Liam regretted more than those times, but it wasn't his fault nor was it Bucky's. Even when the grumpy stallion was in his darkest moments, Liam adored him, loved him through it all, forgave him for any and all transgressions. No one was perfect, and Bucky had gone through brainwashing and horrific trauma. He wasn't at fault for anything that had happened.
The apology was heard, and Liam pulled back a little to gaze at the other stallion, shaking his head. "No, please. No apologies are necessary," Liam murmured, a warm blush crawling along his cheeks under his chestnut coat. "This place is great, Buck. I think you'll really enjoy it. At the very least, we'll enjoy each other," he teases gently.
Upon first glance, Bucky looked great. His coat seemed healthy -- or, well, healthier. His mane was still as limp as ever, and Liam huffed softly at the sight of it. Never one to judge, he used his teeth and tugged gently at a few strands of it, nuzzling the warm coat just under the locks of hair. Their reunion had been a long time coming, and while this wasn't the first time they'd been so far from home, Liam hoped it would be the last one. He could see them growing old here, experiencing all that Novus had to offer.
Their gazes locked, and Liam felt like his knees had turned to jelly, his heart rate picked up in his chest, and he nickered deeply, the sound rich and warm. "See somethin' ya like?"
"Liam Speaks."
