KASIL
He was preparing for his first journey outside of the court since he had been crowned the Sovereign of Dawn Court, his satchels filled with an assortment of maps, supplies and gifts for his hosts. He was leaving Ipomoea in charge while he was away, the Emissary his right hand while the regent position lay vacant. He had an idea of who he wanted to fill the spot, but he had yet to ask simply because he still did not know their full intentions within the court. He also had little time as it was, constantly bombarded with duties and the like -- but he was sure that he had handled enough of them that he could spend a little time away without it being too overbearing on Po. Besides, Kasil had appointed Somnus to help as well -- knowing that the dunalino needed more work to put his hands too, and there was the festival he had forgotten about. Kasil hoped to be back before those festivities began, but he could stand no longer to be a sequestered king, feeling trapped by the very walls that were meant to be home.
Kasil looked again over his belongings, each selected carefully by his own hand -- with a few things that Liesel had suggested for the journey. He had happily taken her suggestions, confused by the entanglement of feelings that he had for the lovely warrior who served as his personal guard. He had never stopped to consider women before being a king, too concerned with his studies to think of things like romance or relationships. He was a scholar first, in love with his work and it left very little room for anyone else. However, now that his duties as a scholar had lessened...he found himself turning to people instead of books, desperate for companionship and finding out that there was certainly far more to this world than what was on the pages of a book.
The winged stallion pulled himself away from his planning, the needs of the court always tugging at the back of his thoughts. He was careful not to let them overrun his mind as he had in the beginning, but still he felt the pull to be out and among the people. Especially since he would be leaving so soon, on a pilgrimage to the various locations of Novus to pay his respects to the Dawn God on the mountain as well as visit the other territories. Leaving his chambers, he instinctively looked for Liesel -- except that he remembered he had given her the day off to prepare for their trip. The idea of being alone with her was unsettling, but he thought his retainers would have an unholy fit if he tried to go by himself without a single guard. Having Liesel at his side would also mean that the trip would take longer, as she lacked the ability of flight. It would mean hours...days in the wilds with just the two of them.
Emerging from the citadel in it’s entirety, he was met with an unfamiliar sight -- a vixen of gleaming golden color before his eyes that carried herself in a very different way than he had ever encountered. Kasil paused, watching her approach his citadel with interest, the wind sending her scent up to him where it rolled over him like a wave. He was quite familiar with the unusual smell of the sandy place that the Day Court called their home. He had been quite unfit for the harsher terrain so he had not tarried there in his youth, but he remembered enough of the scorching heat that the smell would be forever engrained in his memory. Relations however, were currently strained with the Day Court -- as its Sovereign was proving to be something of a militant and he had heard the whispers that he had already stolen once from the Night King. The very idea of such uncivilized action was enough to put a sour taste in his mouth -- yet he had always been taught not to judge someone based on the actions of another. For all that Kasil knew, this fair woman was just another traveller.
He found himself moving forward, his stride purposeful as he went towards her. Perhaps another day he would not have bothered, but because of his looming absence...he would want to know exactly what this female was doing in his court before he left it unattended. ”Greetings, fair one.” He said slowly, his voice a rumble of thunder as he put more authority into his voice than normal -- yet he bore a smile for her, the sun glinting off of his golden headpiece. ”Welcome to Delumine -- are you looking for something?”
