A shadow falls across the land. It is come and gone before he opens his eyes from sleep, but the blood rushes through his body even without having seen what it was that woke him. His pulse quickens, and he feels sharp and strong as a sword. He is moving to the day court without thinking, except for the quick check he does before every fight. He mentally prods at each muscle and bone, testing for any tightness or weakness.

He does not know how he knew a fight was upon them. How he was moving to the court before the call to arms was sounded. When he gets there it is almost a similar sight to a few weeks prior, except instead of Seraphina there is some giant beast of a bird looking quite angry.

(Do you think it is here to move rocks, too?

-Is that a smile? The blood makes you giddy doesn't it... Nostalgic, even, you broken thing)

The creature roars and he feels no fear, no hesitation. An eager smile widens on his lips, his heart pounding like a war drum. As the healer rushes forward, Eik keeps light on his toes and moves to one side, so the arc between himself and Maxence makes about a quarter circle around the teryr. It is his hope the great beast will be distracted from the horn that nears its belly (he knows it is unlikely) and if it is not, well, by spreading out they increase the chances of revealing a weak point and decrease the chances of all being smooshed in one fell swoop.
