He really should stop letting his stomach dictate his actions instead of his brain. Sick of fruit and not wanting to deal with the strange flavor of the swamp foliage, Auru had gone sniffing around the tree roots in search of edible fungus. Something different and unique that he hadn't eaten much before. Living in a swamp gave him ample access to such foods, but he rarely partook of them, not knowing enough to discern what was safe and what was poisonous.
He knew some species, but they weren't populous enough to make the search worth doing frequently. He had been fortunate earlier, and had found a few that he knew were safe to eat, and had a special treat for his breakfast. Unfortunately, he hadn't found quite enough that he knew to satiate his appetite, and had come face to face with an unknown species, and a still eager appetite that whispered to go ahead and try it.
It didn't look poisonous...
The last memory he had was thinking that it tasted rather nice, and suddenly he was snapping to in the middle of an unknown plain, with no earthly idea where he was or what had happened. And with some golden chains woven into the lion's mane about his neck and torso. That smelled rather like perfume.
Oh Vespera he really hoped he wasn't going to be having foals in the near future.
He didn't get much of a chance to stare blankly into the distance, wondering what in the hell had happened and worrying about what consequences he had brought upon himself in the time since he'd been in an, err... altered mental state, because he was suddenly made aware of the distant sound of something falling towards him.
Well, not towards him, but close enough that he still panicked and began scrambling for cover, the golden chains falling out of his mane as he scurried for safety behind an outcrop of stone, peering nervously over after the sound of impact and what had to be a falling body.
Copper eyes blinked over the top of the stone, only the top of his face and some of the knotted and matter hair of his mane. (What he had done to get it in such a state, he did not want to contemplate. Just like he didn't want to contemplate why his backside was somewhat sore.)
He suddenly came face to face with a rather... erm, interesting individual standing some way away, gold and silver antlers and hooves adorned a winged and split colored body. Auru was still recovering from his trip and had few thoughts on the situation, other than that he really hoped she wasn't the potentially future mother of his kids.
He was still somewhat out of it, to put it lightly.
