he little sunburst woman of gold and red was many things.. a she-devil, a mistress of poisons, and of course: a party goer. When she had been slithering in the shadows of Denocte's capitol city, her ears had heard the whispers. An invitation for all, far and wide, to freely cross the borders into Dawn to join in the celebration of a success harvest; to thank the gods for the gifts that they had bestowed upon the lands. She did not have to think twice; at first light, she found herself trekking across the neutral lands, anticipation bubbling in her blood like sweet ecstasy.

Little gold hooves carried her — finally — through the invisible line of Delumine, when the cold sun above her was slowly descending below the horizon. The stars began to yawn awake above her, as colors of gold and blue and rose streaked across the sky like watercolor paints. Smoke was heavy in the air, the scent of roasted pumpkin and spiced cider and apples thick and heady on her tongue. Her mouth began to water as she entered the outer rings of the festivities; the crowds lively as they filtered between trees and large, flickering bonfires as big as a youngling.

Mila weaved in and out of the throng of warm bodies, a wraith of freckled red and gold. With a tender tendril of her mind, she plucked a pastry from a platter, before she took a little bit of the treat. Pumpkin and sugar and flaky deliciousness burst on her tongue, her eyes closing as she gulped down another bite. "Why don't we have these back home?" she asked, more to herself, as she mischievously lifted an entire platter and disappeared around a corner. She melted into the shadows as night began to fall, completely at home in the darkness as the music thrummed all around her and she enjoyed another pastry.

She was completely unaware of who and what might await her as the shadows began to grow.

Being so alone most of the time had it’s draw backs. It wasn’t that she wanted to always be on her own, it just sort of happened lately. She hadn’t really seen her friend in sometime, and she wondered about them. They had been her saving grace bring her to the Night Court after the deaths of her parents after all. Still even to this day she felt shame and guilt she hadn’t been there to help her parents. Stupid to think a mere babe of almost two could have saved them alone, but still the what ifs always seemed to flood her head. No longer though did she voice such what ifs. Everyone probably headed her saying them over and over again anyways. There was a point when she probably just seemed like a broken record. For the most part it seemed like everyone was leaving her alone now, or perhaps it was she who was staying away from the others? In any case her boredom was driving her crazy, so when she had heard word of a party the pink eyed women became curious. She would have to travel off of Night Court land though. That was something she hadn’t done in a long time. In fact the last time she had been off the land was that night.

Shaking her head of the thoughts had been a hard thing to do. Clearing her mind and not letting her emotions linger for too long was something she needed to work on doing more often. Still the journey to Delumine and the Dawn Court seemed like a long one. She was hungry and tired by the time she had finally arrived. Not knowing the way she had caught the scent of someone within the Night Court and followed it. She couldn’t really tell whose scent it was though for there seemed to be a number of smells around her. That and the whole time she never saw the other.

Finally she reached the festival, and the area was pretty. Lanterns fluttered their soft glow, and the gentle hum of fun hung in the air. Making her way around the trees, and through all the strange faces Sunkissed became very tense. This was a bad idea. What if one of these equines had killed her parents? That thought made her stop within the shadows and the girl became very stiff. She had let the what ifs hit her again, and this time they hit like a tree falling on her head. Her breathing became heavy, if not a bit shallow as she had a mini panic attack.

It was only the words spoken from another about something the other women was eating that broke her from her state. Pink eyes peered over as the girl seemed to not see her within the shadows and Sun smiled very faintly. Lips parting she looked at the girl who she thinks she has seen around Denocte before. Her head just wasn’t very clear at the moment so if she knew her or not well that was a different matter altogether. “You...made off like a bandit.” Her words slipped gently from her pale lips as she looked at the platter the other girl hand with her.

oasted pumpkin and sugary goodness burst on her tongue as the golden girl continued to stuff her face with pastries. She almost didn't hear the girl approach her, not when her back was turned and the sounds of drums and pipes were loud in her ears. Mila's body had melted into the shadows between the bonfires and glowing lanterns, like any good Crow. Either her freckled coat or the delicious smell of the pastries she stole gave her away.. she did not know, or cared, for the matter.

You.. made off like a bandit.

Delicate ears flicked at the sound of a soft voice breaking through the rumbling music that thrummed in her blood and bones, as she blinked and looked upward to meet the gaze of a young painted girl. The young thief noted that she was a pretty thing; a strange face with a pretty voice, and with lovely pinkish blossoms tucked into her mane. Her muscles did not flinch as her mouth ceased it's constant chewing, her eyes widening slightly as she took in the image of the girl that's lovely splashed features glowed in the dancing firelight. Mila simply gulped the rest of the treat down, before she gestured towards the stranger to come closer, deeper into the slithering shadows between the tents.

"That's what I do, darling," she smiled, her lips curling mischievously. "I steal and I know things, but alas, this is just a plate of pastries."

She shook her wild flaxen mane, the metal trinkets bound into her tresses tinkling softly. Her orbs blinking, before she pinned the girl with her stare, willing warmth to flood her bright emerald gaze. "Would you care for one?"
