DULCE ET DECORUM EST PRO PATRIA MORI

--

“TO ARMS, SOLTERRA!”

She was out of the library in a bolt of molten quicksilver, white hair trailing in her wake; no hesitation lingered in her bounding strides, no longer hampered by the injury that had left her stumbling for weeks. Dark hooves slammed against the cold sandstone floor in rhythmic, sharp claps as she burst out of the room, cascading down the halls as a banner of glistening charcoal silk. Seraphina half-stumbled down the steep, awkward flights of stairs in her anticipation, sides trembling with perspiration that was already beginning to form. She couldn’t be sure of what had provoked Maxence, but she had a notion of it – the sound of massive wings and the loud thump from the opposite tower was audible even in the library, and, had she not been so engrossed in her readings, she might have been spurred to motion by the familiar noise. As Seraphina darted by one of the windows, she paused for a fraction of a second to peer outside; as her frantic glance passed the arena, she found her fears confirmed. A teryr, accompanied by several young. It seemed that the beast was already surrounded, but she didn’t want to think about what damage it could do the garden and arena they’d toiled to create. Grimacing, she continued through the fortress, finally dashing out of a side entrance and into the scalding heat and sun of the day.

Maxence and Eik hung back in what she imagined to be preparation – or, perhaps, distraction. Voltaire had rushed the beast, crystalline horn aimed at its stomach; she admired his bravery, particularly given that he was a healer, rather than a warrior. Some woman with a leonine tail and wicked horn, painted dark, endless blue and dappled with silver that reminded Seraphina of a starlit sky, rushed the teryr, her aim clearly focused on the teryr’s wing. (Internally, she commended her stratagem, though she hardly had the time to tell her that now.) Eden dashed in front of the teryr, her glistening golden bangles catching in the sunlight; she was trying to cause a distraction, Seraphina imagined. Eden was a bright one, accustomed to the ways of combat. Leviathan appeared just after her, charging the beast with his massive bulk – he leaped at it, and she imagined that, should he manage to hit the teryr, it would be much like being hit by a battering ram.

With their positions in mind, Seraphina joined the fray, cool indifference plastered across her features. She approached the teryr from its side, attempting to dart under the wing that was not presently being assailed by the starlit mare - were she able to reach the delicate humerus, she would rear up and aim to batter it with her hooves, hoping to snap the bone and leave the teryr grounded. The wings would cause trouble enough even if it didn’t take to the air, and, if it did, the only pegasus around was Maxence, though she expected Inkheart would appear eventually. It was of no importance to her; Seraphina was focused purely on the task at hand.

Seraphina's health is 29. (8 base + 16 exp + 5 Day Court bonus)
Her attack is 12.
Summary : Seraphina shows up, takes a look at everybody, and attempts to go for the humerus of the wing that Ki'irha's not already attempting to handle.
just trying to get this one done - quality will probably improve once I'm not worrying about midterms, RIP
