At the sight of Asterion's smile, Corr smiles back and she realizes that his past is not quite as much of a burden as it sounded. While she can relate to missing one's birthplace and family, her story within Novus was not sad either. In fact, she was rather grateful for the life she had made herself here and with Dusk. It sounded like Asterion felt the same way.

Her ear twitches as the man mentioned finding his sister and it brings Corr's thoughts to her sister Briar for a moment. The portals and magic were finicky things; maybe Briar was here for all she knew. Then again, given how long the mare had been here now, that idea seemed nearly impossible. For Asterion at least, it likely did him some good to have family here. It was something to hold on to. In a way for Corrdelia that was Hāsta; with that thought, she gives a fond look at her crow companion.

Asterion's question brings Corr out of her thoughts and she shifts to her memories. Home. It was a word with many meanings. Home was her house hidden in the swamp with all of its organized clutter. Home was far away, back with Astreas and their meadow overlooking the stars. Home was Terrastella and her family within Dusk.

She blinks, taking in the sight of the meadow they came upon and how oddly similar it was to where she grew up within Astreas. It made her homesick and wish the blanket of stars were above them now. She still remembered every constellation they studied and the times of the meteor showers.

"Well," she finally says, finding a place to begin. "It looked very much like this actually. We spent a lot of time out in the meadow looking up at the sky. My family was called Astreas and we studied the stars. Many of us inherited light magic, although some could blend in with the shadows - we called that void magic. There had been an awful war before I was born as those with void magic were seen as outcasts. It split Astreas into two sides and those who sided with the void users won. We called those the dark times of Astreas as their leader was awful. Fortunately, his reign didn't last for long and he was cast out along with his followers. A new leader took the throne and rebuilt the herd right around when my sister and I were born. Things were never perfect, but my sister herself was born with void magic. She proved to those who were still skeptical that not all those with the power of the shadows were as dark as their magic. She actually helped save the herd when a rebellion was attempting to form."

The mare pauses her story for a moment, drawing invisible lines in the ground with her hoof. She remembers spending many nights sleeping close to her sister and the smell of her mane. Oh, how she misses it so. "When everything calmed down, my sister and I focused on our passions. For her, that was becoming a soldier and for me, that was honing my shaman and seer skills. That was around when I received callings to travel and it ultimately led me here. Hāsta came to me around that time, although we didn't share as close of a bond until I passed through the portal to Novus. I knew when I left Astreas that a journey was calling to me for good reasons, but I…" she stops, not realizing how emotional she would get in thinking back on everything. She hadn't really gone over this story before with anyone. "I tried to go back one day to see if I could return to Astreas and tell them of all that I'd seen and all those I've met… but they were gone. Or the portal door was gone, I guess. I'm not sure how I got here exactly, but now I'm here. I don't regret it at all, but I do miss my sister and Astreas. I only hope they're doing alright."

Corr regains composure as she doesn't want to let herself start crying in front of the man. Although she could tell he was an empathetic one, it felt strange to cry with an acquaintance. Especially since the matters were not really all that sad. Everything turned out fine in the end and she was sure that Astreas remained at peace with Briar looking after them all. She turns away from the meadow back to where they had come.

"Can I interest you in some tea back at my house? I've got many blends, but I have to say my lavender blend has got to be my favorite. The herb alone has such great calming qualities to it. I think we could both use it," she offers as she begins to walk in the other direction.

Perhaps they could've continued their exploring, but this meadow did in fact remind her too much of her home with Astreas. It made her too homesick and she wasn't quite in the mood to try and wrestle with those emotions. Plus, seeing as the tiny dragon had certainly disappeared by now, she wasn't sure if there was anything left for them to chase after on this island.

With a flick of her tail, she disappears back into the woods with Hāsta flying above her. She assumes Asterion will follow as hardly anyone could turn down her tea.

@Asterion thank you for a lovely thread <3 we definitely should get them together again sometime!
