Just as he expected, this was a shitshow.

His lumbering gate met the groups' as he flanked behind Solis, the distance melting away beneath their hooves. For a solitary moment, he truly believed it might not be a shitshow, and that there actually might be some semblance of teamwork amongst them. But unfortunately, that dream was short lived...

The herd of Elk crested on the horizon, and they were truly, truly massive beasts. They dwarfed even Torstein, and he felt his muscles tighten at the thought. The fight with the Teryr flashed through his mind, but he did not feel that these creatures were so.... violent. So the Warden watched with dull shock - eyes only slightly brighter and ears only perked up ever so slightly - as the two pegasus dove, dove, dove... watched as Mathias bolted forward, bloodlust staining his teeth an ugly shade. The rest - well, some were more reserved, but overall only one sole citizen offered any thought into a even slightly-well-formed plan of attack. Did they even know what they were fighting?

"How do we even know they're aggressive? Are you leading us into a fight blind?" tore a snarl from his lips as he addressed Solis, eyes igniting with frustration as they honed on the back of his godforsakenly shiny head. His voice was loud enough - booming, deep enough - for most everyone to hear... and hopefully they'd heed his sliver of advice.

But despite his frustration, Tor still kept parallel pace with Seraphina, dull eyes drifting over to her as everyone else bolted forth into the fray. "No one's really changed since I've been gone, have they?" he muttered offhandedly. Not so standard small talk, rolling off his tongue like black ooze. It tasted sour. His eyes averted again, staring deftly ahead.

"With all due respect, Sovereign..." he murmured between breaths as his pace quickened to keep up with the group, addressing Seraphina and anyone who would think to listen to the Warden. If he was honest: the word Sovereign was almost foreign to him - and it was one of the first times he had ever addressed Seraphina as such. ".... my suggestion would be to flank them, to try and herd them out, versus bash headlong into a fight where we do not know what we are going up against."

His gaze did not meet her's, nor Solis', nor anyone else's. "If they can create blizzards.... who knows what else they can do?" Not his first battle, certainly, and it was an odd day when Torstein was more reserved and well-thought out than the majority of the group. And for once, Torstein stayed by Seraphina's side, his hoofbeats a steady sound alongside her own.

Eyes pierced the back of Solis' head with fervor. "Solis help us all if they prove to be more powerful than a Teryr," came the growl, bloody frustration dripping from his words. He felt his heart thrumming in his chest, beating hard behind those spines.

As everyone broke off, so did he. Blood rushed deafeningly through his ears as he crested around the outskirts of the herd. Hopefully those attacking would keep the rest of the herd distracted enough for the massive Warden to flank behind them, bolting past and nipping at heels, haunches, and tails as he tried to herd them - spook them - together out of the Mors. If someone ever inquired, you better believe he'd admit to feeling like a damn cattle dog.

And it was not a feeling he enjoyed.
