The change in season meant a myriad of shifts for an entertainer like Vysanthe. Spring and summer were full of festivals, sunny picnics and twilight gatherings with lively song and dancing. The turn of seasons, with shorter days and earlier sunsets, meant her repertoire changed as well. Softly melancholic songs and wistful rhymes replaced the bright and humorous lyrics of warmer days, and stories were requested as often as song. The chill air also drove celebrations indoors, where her clients gathered around fireplaces and wrapped in woven blankets rather than dancing in forest clearings like fey things.

More inconvenient, however, was the change in foliage. More specifically, the withering of the flowers she typically found growing wild in abundance for her own self-ornamentation. Russet autumn leaves could make a temporary adornment, but lacked the pleasant smells of flowers. Before giving in to the inevitable and allowing the crown of her head to remain bare, however, Vy supplemented her ability to forage by patronizing a family-owned greenhouse and apothecary in the capitol.

Thus she found herself in the pleasant artificial warmth of the greenhouse’s glass walls, even as the slate-grey clouds hung above and a chill autumn wind blew through the streets. Sweet floral scents pressed in on the singer from every side to help cultivate a serene expression as she browsed, admiring small, delicate white roses and warm, ruddy poppies alike. An idea of what combination of blooms would work best had already begun to take shape in her mind, but simply enjoying the microcosm of false summertime was enough for the moment.

I'll show you
what I'm made of
A HEART FULL OF FIRE

It's hard to find new herbs when you've collected nearly every single medicinal one available in Delumine.

Eirene has grown her collection, encompassing nearly every single herb that Delumine had to offer, keeping them in her own growing garden and greenhouse in the middle of the capitol. It's nothing fancy, certainly nothing as fancy as this greenhouse. More often than not, Eirene finds herself wandering to this particular little hub of floral growth, always fascinated by the many new herbs that come from the other courts. More than ones, she's bought seeds from here to grow them on her own ( with a little success, but she's getting better ).

She's back once more, the small vines and flowers coiled around her antlers as she makes her way through the little pathways that spread around the greenhouse. She's looking for Terrastellan herbs this time, hoping to at least find some if she can. If not, she'll have to make a trip to the Dusk Court, but she doesn't mind that thought.

Rounding a corner, her small frame stutters a little, peachy hooves clicking as her head draws up, and a smile blooms over her soft muzzle. "Vy. Fancy seeing you here." The words are a soft tease, gentle laughter parting her lips as her bright eyes seem to light up with happiness at seeing a familiar face.

Of course, there had been no premise of privacy in Vysanthe’s mind as she let her mind drift serenely through the sweet scents of flowers, the earthy tang of soil, and the pungent trace of fertilizer that hazed the greenhouse. It was a public space, and yet the sound of a soft footstep and a gentle laugh – a familiar sound – took a long second to sink in.

Blinking, she turned, with a reflexive smile that was no less genuine for its automation. ”Eirene,” she enthused as good humor crinkled the corners of her eyes. ”Somehow I should’ve known I would find you here,” the mare teased back. While her more diminutive counterpart had yet to have selected anything in her browsing, Vy knew that the herbalist, like herself, would’ve been quite content to while away a couple of hours in blissful wandering through the rows of elevated beds and vines dangling from above.

”On the hunt for a prize to add to your trophy garden?” she quipped, stepping forward to stand a conversational distance away. Even if Vysanthe herself was no giantess, she still had to relax her usual upright poise to comfortably meet Eirene’s gaze.

@Eirene (kindly disregard the weirdness happening with the spacing under the table idk why things are awry OTL)
